Description: Designed for the traditional sound of a plastic head, the Field-Corps marching snare drum offers smooth response, versatility, and outstanding durability.

Shell
The 8-ply birch shell provides bright attack with body and esures strength for high-tension tuning.

Air-Seal System
The Air-Seal System ensures the shell starts round and stays round; an in-round shell tunes clearer and provides a pure fundamental tone.

Rims
Made from die-cast aluminum with webbed reinforcement, these rims are lightweight, yet strong and durable. The batter side rim features a high-profile that ensures rim height as the head stretches to allow rim shots and protect the bearing edge.

Lugs
Zinc alloy lug casings with reinforced walls and webbing provide superior strength for high-tension tuning.

Strainer
The quick-release strainer system allows quick and easy bottom head changes.

Nylon and Steel Washers
The nylon and steel washers on the tension rods, allow smooth tuning at high tension.

Feet
Three protective feet protect the snare mechanism and bottom head.

Carrier Clip
The ET carrier clip is standard on this drum and provides quick, easy, and secure carrier attachment.

Available in 14" model only.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Less Expensive, Lighter than SFZ, Simple and easy to tune
Cons: Non-free floater, Hardware not suitable for high tension

These drums are not as good as the Yamaha sfz (nor are they designed to compete with it), but they sound decent if you can get the right head combination. Be careful with overtightening them. We have had two break their top rims and one lug housing break off the shell. Lesson learned - THESE ARE DEFINATELY NOT HIGH TENSION DRUMS!!

Other than that, they share many of the same parts of the SFZ: Snare assembly, feet and carrier systems are all the same. We have since purchased SFZ's as our primary drums, but these are a great backup or practice drum. However, I would recommend saving up the extra $30 and buy SFZ's

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Looks professional , heavy duty lugs.
Cons: Can't quite get the sound right. Needs kevlar heads

I was looking for a marching snare for my Middle School band. We work up our own drumlines and what not , i figured i'd check these out. I regret the fact that i did NOT get the sFz , as it has the sound that im looking for.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): can last a long time if taken care of
Cons: out of date with modern drumline equipment

When I first started marching, this was the type of snare drum my jr. high drumline used. The only problem was that the students before me didn't care for them very well. The band director put Falam II heads on them and tuned the drum as if it was a high tension drum. In result, about three to four lugs popped off and you couldn't tuned them properly. This is a good snare drum if the proper head is used for them. I have seen them used with kevlar heads but it's a risky move and you have to be know the right limit to tighten the head so the lugs won't pop.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Clean, Long Lasting
Cons: The rim is quite high.

This is my drum we play on our line. We have four. We have Black Max top heads and thin plastic bottoms heads (I forgot the name). The drum is probally at least 6 years old, if not older. Its in very good playing conditin and we get a perfect sound from it. The rim is high. Which has its pros and cons. Really hard to hit pings and with my harness set to the lowest height, I always hit rim shots. I love the Sfz's though. Is light though.
