Cons:

Umn none realy just a great all around book. The only thing I would have liked to see was at least one or two of the solos played on a marching drum rather than a concert snare.

"PROS-The book appeared at my door in less than 5 days from the time I ordered. SO the delivery time is great.
The book comes with a tutorial CD which has 3 version of each solo, one with accompaniment, one at a slow tempo and one track with at performance tempo. Also included is a DVD with accompaniment and without both at performance tempo. Three camera angles are available to aid you in learning the piece. The frosting on the cake is that Jeff Prosperie is performing the solos.
CONS- Umn none realy just a great all around book. The only thing I would have liked to see was at least one or two of the solos played on a marching drum rather than a concert snare.
If you are a music major who needs a snare solo to play for a jury exam this book is where it is at. I would say order without hesitation. If you know any one of the names of the composers of the solos contained within the book you know it is worth every cent.

Great variety of solos.

Cons:
|
No real middle ground - either straightforward or insane.

A great book and DVD with some very well put together solos inside. Comes with accompaniment music tracks as well, so they make for good performance pieces. The only gripe I have with them is that there's really only two levels of solo in it - either intermediate/lower advanced or expert. It would have been nice to see a little more variation. Still, that's a minor gripe - for an experienced drummer this is a *great* book of performance-ready material.
