Description:

The Tendura head was originally manufactured by Premier, however they have sold the design to Remo.
Please rate only the Remo version here. The Premier version can be found here.
Remo created its Tendura™ snare heads to address the demands of pipe band drumming. The name Tendura is derived from the head’s ability to deliver extreme TENsion and DURAbility, according to the company. The head has a feel that falls between the rigid Falams® and the more forgiving White Max™ and Black Max™ heads. The Tendura was designed to deliver the highest possible tension and projection sought by pipe band styled snare drums. It produces the sharp articulation and crisp sound that pipe band arrangements require while giving the feel, response and dependability all players need. It’s been designed for marching snares with an upper snare unit underneath the top head. The Tendura™ head, unlike the Falams®, does not have a thin underlay and will be available in a finish and color resembling Smooth White ™.
TENDURA™ Snare head
Assumes production of most decorated Pipe Band head in the world
The demands of Pipe Band drumming creates most extreme conditions for high-tension drumheads. Under these circumstances, REMO® proudly announces the launch of its TENDURA™ snare heads.
Already the most highly decorated at drumhead at the World Pipe Band Championships, Remo producing the TENDURA™ line was included in an agreement announced last summer where REMO® will assume global drumhead supply to Premier.
TENDURA™, whose name borrows from the head’s ability to deliver “extreme TENsion extreme DURAbility”, has a feel that falls between the rigid FALAMS® and the more forgiving WHITE MAX™ and BLACK MAX™ heads. The new head was designed to deliver the highest possible tension and projection sought by Pipe Band styled snare drums. TENDURA™ produces the sharp articulation and crisp sound that Pipe Band arrangements require while giving the feel, response and dependability all players need. It’s been designed to be the perfect head for marching snares with an upper snare unit underneath the top head.
The TENDURA™ head, unlike the FALAMS®, does not have a thin underlay and will be available in a finish and color resembling SMOOTH WHITE™.
While demand for the storied head continues to grow in Europe, applications in Drum Corps have also started. The introduction of TENDURA™ heads by REMO® to the US and Canadian markets comes after extensive field-testing last marching season by the Boston Crusaders and Madison Scouts through out last summer’s competitions. The new heads were was used by the Crusaders in the 2002 DCI finals held in Madison, Wisconsin.

Positive aspects of the product (pros):

Cons:

|
We just switched over to these Tenduras this season after marching the last 3 seasons with the White Max head, and in this case. Change was good.
These heads have extremely high tension and durability. (TENsion and DURAbility)
They produce and different sound quality that is nice, and the rolls are easy to bounce on the head, overall just a good head.
