Positive aspects of the product (pros): Size, rebound, feel, snare response
Cons: Thin sound, sluggish fast rolls

Another great stick by Jim Casella. This stick has a great, even feel, and gives a very bright and wet snare sound. The pair I have is a little on the lighter side compared to other pairs, and the sound is a bit thin for my liking; these sticks do not "play through" the drum as well as other sticks. Fast rolls tend to sound dirty or edgy due to the fat tip and amount of snare response, which isn't a bad thing, as long as the drums are tuned acordingly. Watch the Glassmen 2006 drumline for a better idea of what I mean.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): great finish, feel good in the hands, get a lot of sound out of the drum
Cons: not particularly agile

I purchased these because I liked the look of them. I've found them to be a "slow", heavy-ish stick -- they get a good volume and sound quality out of a high tension head, and are weighted more toward the tip.

Basically, these sticks make you work for it -- they don't change direction as nimbly as most other sticks.

*EDIT*
After trying a friend's pair, my pair must just have been duds -- his have an excellent rebound. I ditched mine and got another pair, and they rebound just fine.

I've taken to using these to build my chops.

If you're looking for a beefy stick that feels nice in your hands, this may be what you're after.

If you want a stick for fast and/or intricate passages that pack as many notes as possible, look elsewhere.
