The FS-BK Signature model marching snare drumstick is designed to the exacting specification of Brett Kuhn, Caption head and arranger for the world Champion Cavalier Drum and Bugle Corps. Positive aspects of the product (pros): Great quality and feel. Nice balance.
Cons: Not for all playing styles.

The IP FS-BK stick is one of the best marching snare sticks that I have used.

Like all wood products, the weight varies between pairs due to the wood density and the location from the center within the tree from which it was cut. As a whole this stick fits into the mid-range of snare stick weights. It is not the heaviest of sticks nor the lightest.

It has a very nice balance and fits very well in the hands. Sound projection is great and the sticks are lively while playing.

The cut of the bead limits the style of playing these sticks are compatible with. The barrel shape lends itself to "flat" players, where the angle of attack is very low, almost parallel to the head.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Nice barrel design in the shaft. Good Balance.
Cons: Bead is long and narrow instead of nice and fat. Very light.

This stick is deffinatly not the best I have ever played with. It is VERY LIGHT for my taste, and the tip of the stick is a long skinny bead instead of a nice fat round bead which your hand position to get the best quality of sound.

I also think that due to the stick being so light and the tip being as skinny as it is it is better for lighter, quieter passages because it dose not take a lot of musucle to operate and due to the weight it is consistintley a bit quieter.

I do like the overall desing and weight distribution of the stick and I would recomend it to players with smaller hands or that really enjoy lighter sticks.

If this stick was a bit heavier I would use it exclusivley, until then I will stick with the VIC FIRTH company.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Good feel, light, very strong structurally.
Cons: Soft wood, so damages easily on surface.

This stick is a very good stick.
It is a very strong wooden stick, which when used makes a very nice clean sound. Very light which makes it very comfortable to play with and to carry. Have used the same sticks for over a year and they are still in very good condition. Very comfortable to use in both traditional and matched grip. Though through my experience, I have also found out that wrapping these sticks kills all resination from the stick, and makes it not sound as clean. Also, wrapping these sticks (the full sticks) makes them very uncomfortable, and hard to play with (in my opinion). But over all, a good ballanced stick with a good tip and very light.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): balanced, solid stick, and great sound when using correct technique.
Cons: not BD, SCV, or PR friendly

The options about this stick will vary depending on what style and technique you use.

This stick was designed for the Cavaliers. The bead of a long bead because they play 1" from the rim at all times. The weight is lighter and not the heaviest because the Cavaliers also believe in endurance. This stick completely reflects and style and technique currently used by the Cavaliers.

For those who play a little raised and tilted towards the head, go for the round beads and a little heavier since gravity is on your side more so than with the Cavie style.

Bottom line this stick is well balanced and can take moderate abuse compared to hardimons. And if your style and technique match up with the stick, it will prove to be the best.

Positive aspects of the product (pros):
Cons:

My snareline uses the Bret Kuhn model. If your line implents a very low stick angle, this stick is for you. The elongated bead allows for maximum surface contact if played at the correct angle. When you buy the sticks, go through all available pairs and, in addition to matching pitch, look for the heaviest pair you can find. IP is one of my favorite companies, but the last few pairs of sticks have had really low densities, and that really affects the sound quality and rebound. Overall, a high quality product if used with the correct technique.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Accurate pairing
Cons: Very style-specific

I've been using IP Bret Kuhn's for just over a year now, and have nothing but good things to say.

I'm on my 4th pair now, and each one has been paired perfectly (I order them by mail). Great design (balance, contact area, weight distribution), affordable price, and a great reputation will keep this stick at the top of my list.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Weight, Dynamic control, Matched well, Durable, Great sound
Cons: None

This is a great stick; however, it is your technique that will determine if you like it. It is best suited to players that use a lot of control. Not players who "pound" away all the time nor play with no force behind their stroke. It feels good in the hands and is an excellent stick. I would recommend the bk to anyone and everyone.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): high density, feels good in hands, clean sound
Cons: tip is just a hair too elongated for MY technique

I love how dense this stick is compared to my vic firths. The sticks feel very good in my hands and I feel I can play very clean with these. All around good stick imo.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Well balanced in weight, Fair durability,
Cons: Not always paired right, Soft wood, bad bead shape

My line has used these sticks for a very long time. The sticks do fit well in the hands and are great for beginners just approaching the marching snare drum. The weight of the stick is flexible (light without tape/fair with 1 layer of tape/heavy with 2 layers of tape.) I personally like the feel of the stick with 2 layers of tape.

Great stick! ...but there are way better sticks out there other than this one. The bead of this stick is not that great if your line plays traditional grip(the tip rounds out and flattens easy.) Tends to chip easy on shots too. When playing with it, it feels like your playing a stick with a jelly-bean on the end.

Over all this stick is ok. Not recommended, since other sticks out there could better fit your taste.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Weight Distribution, Sound, Volume,
Cons: a little less responsive

This stick kicks ass. Plain and simple. My line uses them, and we all love them. But, the sticks are very inconsistent. Most say they have light pairs, both pairs I have are HEAVY, and I mean heavy. The sound I get from both pairs is different, one is more snare responsive, and one is fuller, but they feel the same. The balance on these is perfect. If you can search for a good sounding heavy pair, you may never use another stick.

They are also great for chop builders(or at least the heavy pairs). they aren't as quick, not really made for those flam-draggers on the left coast, but they have great control. Overall, this stick is awesome if you know how to apply it.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): EVERYTHING!
Cons: NOTHING!

Omg, I bought a pair of these the other day and I fell in Love!!!These sticks are amazing in every aspect. The weight is perfect, NOt too heavy but not light at all.....The rebound is phenomenal and the tip is perfect.....I bought a perfectly matched pair and they sound great. The projection is very good and as far as i can tell they are goin to last. I taped mine up with a light layer of tape(just like cavies) and the weight is now how i life it.. Definitely a *10*
