Description:
|
The Pearl CX AirFrame series of carriers....this version is the CXS-1 Snare Drum Carrier...feature a solid rod, form-fitting upper shoulder frame attached to a thin aluminum belly plate with extreme range of motion. The ACS (Agility Control System) Belt unites the player to their instrument for optimal stability in today's modern use of body movement. The shoulder and belly pads are removable for cleaning and are built with a "stealth-like" design.....the carriers practically disappear under the uniform.

I got to wear this harness at TMEA and it was the best harness I've ever worn, it is way more comfortable than Randall May's harnesses and it has a more stealth look than the other harnesses. It's padding should be considered more like a cushion (which is good) and not only is it on the shoulders but it's also on the belly part of the harness. Randall May's paddings feel like rocks compared to the Pearl padding, plus it is easy to remove and maintain in good condition and the agility belt really does what it says. This is probably going to be the best harness you can get for a long time.

I love these carriers. I spent years wishing Randall May would stop making carriers with more and more parts needing more and more tools. This carrier is easily adjustable with a drum key. It is light weight, sleek under a uniform and is very sturdy. The clip system is great! Easy to adjust angle of snares and easy to get on and off WITHOUT the issue of parts that break or fail like the old Pearl clips from Randall May. Less parts on these, than the old carriers. You get a belly plate, j bars and the tube structure. Less moving parts means less breaking parts.
My only complaint would be the back padding. While it is incredibly comfortable, it can sometime roll under the bar and get uncomfortable between your shoulder blades. This is a minor complaint and doesn't happen often.
Overall, the best carrier I've used.
