Description:
|
Aluminum tube construction.
Offers low weight with unparalled positioning options.
Infinite height adjustment.
The position of the belly plate is infinitely adjustable to perfectly fit small players, large players, and any player in between.
Rotating shoulder adjustment.
The shoulder hooks rotate fore and aft to adjust to the contours of any body.
Slim Aluminum belly plate.
The slim Aluminum belly plate is unobtrusive yet supportive for coolness in summer and better fit under uniforms.
Independently adjustable belly plate and drum position.
The belly plate can be positioned for optimum wearing comfort while allowing the drum to be optimally positioned for playing ease and comfort.
Aluminum Free Floating Snare Attachment (FFSA-S) for snares.
New parallel jaws individually clamp (rather than squeeze) the drum's tension posts for improved reliability. The drum can be easily angled from side to side by loosening the jaws and rotating the attachment to the desired angle. The attachment can be positioned at the top, middle, or bottom of the drum or anywhere in between for greater positioning options. A hinge joint allows the drum to be flipped up for more comfort while at rest.
FFSA-S fits both 13" and 14" FFX snare drum (as well as the Yamaha SFZ).
Allows player to carry either drum size with no additional hardware.
Elimination of the clip bracket on snares. Increased durability and no shell contact

My school uses the old randall may carriers, (The big fiber glass blocks). My parents got me this carrier for cristmas and it is amazing. It can be adusted for any body type. And it is "gender friendly". I just wish that there was a way to lock the drum into it. The carriers at school have a screw near the attachment that will keep the drum from coming out. But overall a very good product.
Edit: After using it for a while, I have dicovered That this carrier is very cool, which is a big deal in Florida. Also there snare attachment is quite stable. Rating raised to 10.

looks like a magvest

Cons:
|
not as good as the magvest

My school has these tubes, but I realliy don't like them as much as the fiberglass vests or the magvests. they tend to lose the tension on the joints more easily than the magvests. They also don't come with a backbar like the tenors or the magvests, and the belly plate is horrible - it doesn't beat the magvest or the fiberglass vests. the belly plate also isn't able to be wrapped in a color like the magvest. bottom line: get the magvest. it is similar in design, but has better hardware.

This is a great carrier overall. Randall May makes very durable products and this is no different. The only complaint that i have is that the snare model does not come with a back support which may help me, it also positions the drum farther away from my body than im used to with a snare sling. but that is just something i have to adapt to as a player.
