Description:
|
XL Vest carriers are for high school, college band, or drum corps heavy-duty usage. Each carrier utilizes a unique Angle Reduction Bar system. This system fits virtually any brand of snare and mounts directly to the rim of the drum, not interfering with the shell. The harness is made from a strong, yet flexible aluminum, allowing it to be shaped to the the individual players body.
XL Aluminum Vest Marching Carriers are manufactured from white powdercoated aluminum, creating a strong, yet flexible carrier. The harness is a two-piece vest which allows the user to adjust the length of the carrier. Vest carriers feature foam on the shoulder and back supports, and the stomach plate.

I don't really like this harness. It throws off my balance while playing. The way the harness is situated, it puts the snare really low compared to ordinary harnesses. I wouldn't recomend it, but then again, it all depends on your sense of comfortability.

the top part of the little nuts that hold the j-bar to the carrier seems to break off

The school i teach have these carriers and they have held up great. They are light-weight and the way they are cut makes everybody feel comfortable. They have a few problems thou: The snare and tenor carriers have the little nuts that hold the j-bar's to the carrier and they seem to break causing you to drill them out. This really ruins the carrier. The bass carrier is good also but you have to tweak the length and the part that the bass drum rest on to get the correct playing position for the specific person.

Drum attachment

|
These harnesses are good in that they serve their purpose, without giving you any major grief in the process.
The length of the carrier can be adjusted in two different places, and the shoulder area has some give in it. The length at which the drum is held out at is longer than most carriers, but a nice feature. The only problem I encountered in assembling these harnesses, is the attachment which gets mounted to the drum. The manner in which it secures itself isn't incredibly sturdy, unless you spend a great deal of time lining everything up, by which point, part of your marching season is already over.
I would recommend this product to anyone looking for a reliable carrier, made to fit students of any height.
