Description:

Heavy Hitter Stockpad (HHPST)
The Heavy Hitter Stockpad features a 3/16" thick gum rubber pad mounted to a 12" sturdy wooden base. This pad gives the player a more accurate feel of a snare drum or marching tenor/bass drum. It's the perfect size and weight to throw in a backpack for the drummer on the go.
14 mil mylar laminates for the HH Stockpad are also available, giving the player more articulation and a more accurate feel of a plastic-headed drum.

Positive aspects of the product (pros):
round, great feel with or without laminate, purple!
Cons:
backordered

It took a while for my pad to get here, but well worth the wait. According to Vic Firth at info@vicfirth.com they told me that getting things caught up is taking some time with the overwhelming response they have had to the new line of HeavyHitterPads.
The STOCKPAD feels great! It is I would say right in line with the description and does feel softer than the "slimpad".
With the laminate you can hear the absolute softest notes you can play (and I mean the SOFTEST buzz roll/ grace note)
The pad is round, it fits into the snare stand great and easily into my backpack.
The bottom foam is on for good (they had probems in the first batch in nov.03 but seems that everything is now good to go)
Thank you to Vic Firth and the guys at HeavyHiiterPads for a great line of products! The only ones I need to get now are the Exactopad and Basspad. Cant wait to check those out as well!!!

Positive aspects of the product (pros):
Light, Purple, Good Rebound, Doesn't Slide, Good Size
Cons:
Gathers Dust and Other Stuff Easily, A Little Loud for My Liking(just my opinion for class)
This pad is the way to go. If you have a Real Feel, throw it away. Even though it has one side, it is so much better. I constantly play on this pad now. It is nearly perfect. My only quips are that it catches dirt easily on the rubber and it is very loud in band class(not necessarily a bad thing). It is much lighter than a Real Feel and the extra rubber(opposed to a slim pad), is nice. Great Rebound. Pick This Pad Up Now!!!

Positive aspects of the product (pros):
portable, purple, bouncy, skid free
Cons:
a bit too loud, a bit expensive
I just ordered this pad and received it a few days ago. Its very bouncy, better than my VF double sided pad. The response to snare sticks is awesome though I can't say the same for mallets (no surprise). Since the pad is so large and has skid rubber, it hardly moves at all when playing on it (a problem I have complained about smaller pads).
I've stuffed it into my backpack and dropped it several times but it has hardly suffered any damage, so its very durable. Not only that, the pad and the skid rubber hold on pretty tight.
Unfortunately, the rubber is about slightly less bouncy than gum rubber on other VF or RF pads. It is also louder, though not by that much. Good for hearing articulations better but not good if surrounded by non-drummers.
Despite this, the stockpad is still a superb practice pad that has many good features.

AMAZING!!!!!!!

Cons:

None!

This is pad is amazing and I don't even have a laminate. And I'm not going to get one. I think it's loud enough but that's me. I had an Pro-Mark Xpad but I gave it away to my buddy. No other pad can compare with this beast! I won't ever practice with anything else!

well I just got my stock pad the other day. It has a really nice feel and I like how it does not skid because it has the big skid prevention pad on the bottom which is so much bigger then my other pads. this is my 3rd pad now and Its my favorite so far. got it because my friend got it and did not even bother getting the laminate because its plenty loud

Solid Construction, Nice Wood Tone
Cons:
Little Noisy

I finally gave into the hype to buy a stock pad & I found it really has grown on me. It's just a great all purpose pad. It does have a peculiar woody tone & feel to get used to. But once you give it some test runs, I think you'll like it. It gives you the sense it's a real chop builder & makes you work for it. I love the simple round design that speaks one thing, start practicing. I would recommend this to drumline students especially. In my opinion it's worth the money. I would play on a demo first to make sure you like it. Anyways, if you like it, getcha one...
