Description: The newest revolution in rudimental multi-tonal marching tom-tom (Quad) practice gear!

Tired of lugging around awkward multiple square footage of lumber? Need a better solution for practicing on the go?

The MODQUAD is here. Designed, developed, and built by long time Quad expert Mike Stevens (Blue Devils, Cadets, Blue Knights, University of Louisiana).

The MODQUAD eliminates the need for additional pads, because when broken down, the MODQUAD becomes

FIVE SEPARATE PRACTICE PADS!

All you need is a single allen key! These are full size pads to give you the real drum experience.

There are other great Quad pads out there, but none that allow you the freedom to build a set and break them down in to 6-10-12-13-14 sizes. This is ideal for vacations, travel, and tour! The MODQUAD fits easily in your suitcase! Take one on the bus and pack the rest in your luggage!

*Available with one 6" Spock, two 6" spocks, or 6" and 8" Spocks
**Currently not available in 8-10-12-13 size

Pros: Solid Depth (for rebound) , Quick and Easy, Full size pads
Cons: slightest amount of drag, and depending on your playing surface - the flexibility

I saw this pad on Mikes website and was one of the lucky first to try this out. The concept of the pad is very cool and actually very convienent.

When completely taken apart, the stack is maybe only a foot tall and could fit in a grocery bag. Those in college could really find that handy. The system allows for a 1 second long interlocking time for each pad.

It can be ordered in the 10,12,13,14 size only with all spock models. 6, 6-6, & 6-8. I love having the complete drum size because it actually gives you that state of mind like your playing your select drums. A pad can be decieving for the head and overall physical appearance if you understand what I am getting at.

But, my only beef really was the slightest amount of drag that I got. But it was easily fixed with a $19 purchase of TrimBrite clear guard car laminates. They come in 6" by 12' strip and youll have enough to laminate the pad 3 times. (like if one cracks..etc.) But, that is just for those who are fans of laminates and that tiny drag gets to you. But, it may not be an issue for some.

The price I paid included shipping and I ordered both the one spock model and 6-8 so thats why it was a bit more. But otherwise the prices are relative to other pads on the market.

The pad also has the felts on the bottom to prevent any marks on tables or what not.

I have played on every quad pad out there. You name it, I either own it or have played it at the finals booths. (Im on my 3rd tenor pad...yeah...) And I can confidently say that this is hands down the best one for me and my playing situations.

Thats it for me now, if you want any more in depth about the pad down to any specifics. Shoot me a PM and I will get back to ya. PEACE

Pros: They come apart for easy carriage
Cons:

Decent Tenor Pads are hard to come by across the pond in the UK, I think that I'm the first person to own a set over here and a can say that they are really cool and very practicle as they come apart for easy carriage to shows/ camps/ rehearsals and would reccomend them to anyone. Thanks Mike for this invention!

Pros: great feel, versatility, sturdy
Cons: a bit weighty

Very good pad, i like the rebound it give, not too little. im the envy of my tenor playinng friends who lug around these huge tenor pads while i carry mine in a duffle bag, haha. I love how it easily breaks down for transport, and it was suprisingly sturdier than i expected, i definately recomend it.

Pros: Great full sized pad that is super if you're on the go.
Cons: Needs laminates to be flawless.

What a wonderful invention. You can take this pad anywhere. It is VERY sturdy and feels great in any situation. Another bonus for me as a teacher is that I have 5 usable pads with me wherever I go, so I always have something that my students can play on.

The big bonus is that the pads have different pitches because they're sized accurately instead of just having playing zones that all sound the same. I use it mostly for composing my quad parts, and it gives a wonderful realistic feel for me as a writer.

I highly reccomend this product to everyone who plays quads, teaches a line, or is arranging drumline music. A++

Pros: Portable, height adjustable, CUSTOM COLORS!
Cons: Feel depends on the surface, assembly takes a sec

This is about as good as they come. If you take a certain other awesome pad and subtract the drawbacks, you'll very likely end up with this pad, or something close. After all, Mike did base his design loosely off of it. Where do I start?...
Well, I bought this being a future instructor/composer; I wanted to expand my horizons, as well as have something to work with when writing cadences.
All I can say is it's awesome. I'm primarily a snare player (obviously) and this helps with snare practice. It disassembles so you have pads for the whole section, plus you can stack them if you need them higher or for more bounce. The thing is they can feel hollow if on an unsupportive surface. Also, the tone of each pad can be loud, much like the Vic Firth Pad.
But that's not always a bad thing. It's actually pretty cool, in my opinion, that each pad has it's own respective tone, like a real set of tenors. It kind of helps you hear what exactly it is you're playing.
Plus Mike Stevens is a real cool guy. I asked about different colors. Long story short, I own a set in my favorite color, blue. Not sure about other colors, but I believe Mr. Stevens delivers on the service.
A word about assembly; it takes some time. You can just throw the pads together, but if you don't want them falling apart, you need some tools (which he provides), and about 5 minutes of time, which is still a good tradeoff.
Overall, awesome. Think I've said enough now...
