Pros: Perfect for scrapes and producing warm tones
Cons: Lacks in staccato

These were the first mallets I bought, and I couldn't have been happier with them! They're great if your looking for scraps and producing a pretty good tone.

Though it's great, it lacks the staccato the MT-1 has.

All-in-all, great product! I love 'em!

Pros: great feel and tone
Cons: metal shaft

First off these are great tenor mallets, they sound good and feel good. They are perfect for sweeps and for getting to SCV sounding warm tones out of the drums. The only thing is that they are metal which might mean a shorter life but overall they are great sticks, they'll be in my stick bag this fall.

Pros: INCREDIBLE rebound, less rim-hits, durable, lightweight
Cons: None.

In reference to the above reviews: Wood does not last longer than metal. I've gone through two pairs of vega sticks, and am still using my MT1-A's and MT4A's. Not to mention, I use the mallets more than the sticks.

These things are amazing, to say the least. Incredible rebound. I've hit a rim maybe 4 times while playing with those things. Staccatto isn't that great, but then again . . . It's not made for staccato hits. If you want 'warm' tones and ease-of-scrapage. get these.
