supersize

Description: Advanced marching-band drummers, students, and instructors are sure to appreciate Yamaha's new PPQ-550, the first practice pad to offer the actual spacing for a large set of Yamaha Field-Corps sextets. This handsome, lightweight practice tool features tonal reference pads, which provide the player with aural feedback as he or she builds muscle memory.

"This tenor pad complements anyone playing Yamaha marching percussion," Wollwage says. "The tonal reference pads allow for easier part recognition in practice and rehearsal settings."

For the beginning Tenor player, Yamaha also offers the smaller PPQ-500. Although it boasts the same quality construction of the PPQ-550, the PPQ-500's compact size and light weight make it easy to carry around. "The PPQ-500 allows beginning players to get accustomed to drum location while improving mallet control, stick technique and coordination," Wollwage states. "It's ideal for the young musician who's playing Yamaha marching percussion."

Pros: Just like Vega. Cheap on most websites.
Cons: absolutely nothing

Dont waste 120 bucks on a quadropod or the sean vega pad. This is exactly the same and 50 dollars cheaper!!!
