Pros:
Originator of the Freefloater, Good projection
Cons:
Lack Of Support, Metric Size Hardware, Aluminum/Chrome Hardware Not An Option
We have these drums at Steel City and they are maintenance nightmare. The parts are not very easy to obtain, almost impossible. Changing the snare tension is very tedious. Tension screws back out frequently on the bottom head. Premier was the innovator of the free-floater, but they have not updated their design much at all. Due to the higher costs, lack of support, lack of chrome/aluminum hard ware, and the work that has to be put into maintaing these drums, I recommend you check out the other brands before paying full price. If you can get one at a good price, I would recommend it as a personal snare but not for a full line.

Cons:

replacement hardware

The projection is somewhat fair...however, in an indoor venue it is a nightmare.
As for spare parts, forget about it. To get any spare parts you'd have to go straight to Premier, and they overcharge.
The throw-off is not smooth at all, and is somewhat noisy.
