Description: Made in the USA, our premium line of pads made with a high-density fibre board base will not chip or fray. The unique soft gum rubber compound developed for the X-Pad offers an unmatched touch and responsiveness.

The medium pad measures 9 inches, and I believe the large pad is 12 inched.

These pads have a unique system which recerates a snare sound. It's a patent which has a cavity of beads in the wood which creates a very unique "snare" sound.

Pros: Sturdy non skid rubber on bottom, Good Response
Cons: Not quiet,

This pad is good, but for all practical purposes, it still is shy of the great real feel practice pad.

First, this pad makes noise. That's a good thing, for some people. This is both a pro and a con. It's much easier to hear articulations to identify places where you are weak at. But, on the downside, it's definitely not a quiet pad. If you're trying to practice in close quarters, this is probably not the pad to use to be courteous to others.

The gum rubber is different fromt he real feel neoprene. It's a blue rubber that has a canvas feel to it. It's very interesting noticing the difference. It performs just the same results though.

It's a good pad, and I dont know about it's durability since I've only had it for about 4 days, but it looks like it can last. I'll update if it does not.

Pros: Great response (snare and dynamically) Durable
Cons: loud

Overall, this is a good pad. It encourages you to practice longer because there is a snare sound instead of a thud like most other pads.
A negative is, it is loud. If you are where people can be bothered, it is clearly a bad thing. However, it can be good if you are teaching others or are practicing where there is a lot of noise. I am happy with it and it is very durable, I rate it an 8.

Pros: Great alternative
Cons: Noise

This is a great pad that i use as the alternative to my real feel.
I would usually use this when i want to "hear" what i'm playing. Also sometimes when i get bored of the usual "pad" sound
It's also great for outdoors, i usually take this out to the park.
It's bad for practicing late nights in your house.
Other then that, i think this is worth investing if you have the money.

Pros: Great quality, good sound
Cons: Sound degrades on a flat, solid surface.

I got this pad about a month ago when I stole it from a friend of mine who left it in one of the Portables at school. How'd I know it was his? Only his says "Blue Devils; Alto Sax" on the rims.

Anyway. It's a very good pad. Easy to carry around, and fun to play. I hang around people who don't mind the sound, plus, if you want this Pad, you're obviously looking for sound. The only qualm I have with this pad is that when you sit it on a solid flat surface (Like Concrete with plaster), the sound will be odd. It's the perfect pad to sit on your feet and knee, or lap, and just play.

Pros: Sounds like a snare, very portable and light.
Cons: Smaller than you think it is,

This is my newest edition to drum pads and I glad I bought this. When compared to Remo and Ludwig and all the other companies that try to make snare-sounding pads, this one is the best. It has a non skid bottom and you can take more ball bearing to make it more like looser snares. If you buy this pad, it will only sound good if there is something solid under it, if you are planning to play this on carpet, it sounds bad. If you want to put it on a snare stand, put something hard under it so the sound is best. This pad it also smaller than I thought it would be. It is bigger than a 6 inch pad, but smaller than a large real feel, so it is probably about 8 inches wide. Otherwise, very good item to have.

Pros: Best snare-like sound I've heard on a snare pad
Cons: 2-bolt plate design allows plate to bend a bit over time

I purchased the Pro-Mark Xpad about 2.5 years ago to replace an aging Xymox snare pad that was starting to sound a bit slushy after only a year.

The Xpad is, hands-down, the best sounding snare pad I've heard or owned (and I have the Xymox version of this as mentioned, the Yamaha 4-bolt square pad, and 2 Xymox Ralph H. series, in addition to the Xpad). My ONLY complaint is that the metal plate on the bottom will bend down a bit on the ends over time. This was a problem for the Xymox-branded version of this pad as it allowed the sound to become slushy. However, the sound on the Xpad is still nice and crisp and the pad has retained a great feel over the past couple of years - which is funny because Xymox is the mfg. of both pads!

I play on this pad A LOT, using it as my playing surface when I'm teaching private lessons (about 20 students/wk). I'm very impressed at how well it's held up. It's still my favorite pad to play on.

Putting a positive spin the volume issue that other reviews have raised with this pad: I like the little extra volume it gives since you can play along with music that's fairly loud and still hear yourself playing in detail (but without destroying your hearing slowing over time Wink.

Pros: Nice sound, pretty blue color, skid resistant foam on bottom, very durable
Cons: Loud around other people

This pad is probably one of my top 3 favorite snare pads to play on. As you probably know, it has a snare sound due to the beads in the back of the pad. This sound may help you hear yourself in a loud room, on the bus, etc, or if you just want an edge to your practice. The only bad thing is that it's a little loud if you want quiet practice. It can be loud sometimes. I think investing in this pad will give you the most bang for your buck.

Pros: snare sound, handle
Cons: rubber could be harder

I'm a 30-something mom who played drums ages ago in high school. I'm about to join a city symphony, and needed something to re-learn rudiments on. I picked this pad mainly because I just find it more fun to hear the snare sound. If I were a more serious musician, I might have chosen differently, but I'm really no expert. The model I have looks a little different than the picture here. Mine has a narrower rubber pad, with a carrying handle cut into the top, very handy. Again, it's fun to play :-)

Pros: Great feel, crisp sound, very lightweight, useful handle, not too loud
Cons: maybe a bit too small, hard to hold on leg comfortably sometimes.

As mentioned above, I have the newer version of the pad, with a cut-out handle in the black wood(?) frame; It's still a hexagon shape, but the pad itself is an inch farther from the top and bottom. The frame has a logo on the top blank spot and a handle in the bottom blank spot.

The pros: The pad itself feels great. When used in conjunction with my two-sided Vic pad, it's very useful for an efficient and well-rounded workout. The sound is perfect; it is loud enough that you can play it with music or in noisier areas, but I've played it in the middle of the night and not had one complaint from any of my family members. It's very lightweight, fits perfectly in a backpack, and the cut-out handle is a brilliant idea.

The only con I have is that it's really small... it's hard to hold in your lap comfortably for a long period of time. This isn't big and is easy to get around by putting it on a different surface.

Great, great product.

Pros: snare sound
Cons: alittle small

well I got the x-pad from a friend in exchange for my HQ hard pad. I like it because you can do buzz rolls and it sounds good. only down side is its a little small.
