Positive aspects of the product (pros): good all around mallet, great for beginners
Cons:

I haven't had the chance to experiment with many other mallets, but of the ones I've used I'd say this is prolly the best all around mallet I've used. Good balance, lightweight, and you get a good sound out of them.

Great mallet for the beginner quad player.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): I have heard of the disc comming off of the shaft.
Cons: lightweight

Yes, I have heard of the disc comming off of the shaft. But Vic Firth does make some very good products! I would say these are ideal for medium quality playing but I would buy something else for heavier day to day playing.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): balanced, crisp-sounding
Cons: kinda expensive, compared to some other stuff I've used.

These mallets are really nice. They do tend to break after about a season and a half, but they're still wonderful. The grips don't slip, scrapes flow well, the weight is balanced well, and the heads don't snap every twelve seconds. The aluminum makes a nice sound on the rims and shots, too.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Nice grips
Cons: Too light

Pros - The grips on these mallets are great. They have a really nice texture, soft, and they will almost never slip. The color of the aluminum looks awesome also.

Cons - This mallet is way too light. It feels like I'm holding set sticks because of their wieght. Also, they bend pretty quickly if you try to do alot of rimshots.

Over all - I think this is a great mallet for someone that wants to just put their sticks(or mallets) to the drums.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Lightweight, excellent rebound
Cons: None, really . . .

These mallets are the best I've ever played with. Nice, snappy staccato sound, and excellent rebound. Great for scrapes.

Edit: I'm gonna stop being a little girl and just say that it's not the grips that were uncomfortable . . . It was me being a whiny little girly-man. Wink The grips are fine.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): light, easy to grip
Cons:

I Love these mallets. I have only used them for a few months, but they are some of the best mallets ive ever used. They are nice and light, it feels like you can play anything with these. The grip is standard, but its a nice alternative to the wooden stick all the time. I also had the chance to use the wooden version of these sticks, and they broke way too easily, so this one of my top picks for a mallet.
