Positive aspects of the product (pros): Beautiful Sound, Even Drum Spacing, Solid Mounting Rail
Cons: Weather Durability of Rims

First, Let me start off by saying I played a set of these from the high school I graduated from, and taught.

The dynasty quints are really just fantastic. The spacing of the drums really makes it easy to maneuver around and makes scrapes/sweeps come with ease, even from the spock to drum 3/4 scrape.

The sound is a whole different story. The drums are sonically cut and really project. This can be quite good for lines where the tenors are significantly overpowered by the snares.

The only con of these drums is that within the first year of owning these, the rims started to corrode. Perhaps it was a simple maitenance issue, but usually this type of behavior doesnt happen after using them for only 8 months. If you have a set of these drums, make sure you keep the rims and tension rods lubricated and keep up on maitenance.

Other than that, these drums are a really good set of tenors. The sound great and the playability is even better, making them, in my opinion, the best tenors on the market.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Excellent sound quality, ease of tuning, solid
Cons: Heavy

These drums are simply the best tenors I've ever played on. My band marches Pearl, and I've had the chance to play a set of Yahmahas. The Dynasty drums are simply the best - they win in sound quality, durability and the ease of getting the drums to sit where you want is awsome.

Maybe one other drawback besides the weight is that these drums would be hard for a small person to wear - even on the closest setting, the drums are still kind of far away. And, along with the durability comes a large amount of weight. They are easily 30 pounds, and since they sit so far from the body, they seem even heavier. That's not too much of a problem though - you just need to get used to them, or do a little bit of working out.

The other thing that blew me away was how easy it is to tune them. Even after several months I was still able to use a knuckle-buster to tune them, and get the desired pitch. Once tuned, the drums themselves sound fantastic, and it's amlost impossible to make them sound horrible.

All, in all, if you're looking for a set of tenors, this is your best bet. A great set of drums at a fantastic price. Yahmahas are too expensive, and Pearls are not really worth the price - hardware that needs to be constantly tightened, hardware that falls out if you don't pay constant attention to it, and for some reason the drums we had didn't seem to hold pitch at all.

Do go with Dynasty.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Beautiful Tone, Drums well organized
Cons: Heavy, shells eventually cave in

I think the Dynasty Tenors are wonderful, and especially these. I own a black set (once used by the Court of Honor Drum Corps).

Only thing I really hate about these is the weight! UGH! Kills my back every practice.

I love the tone and how the drums are arranged. It's really unique how they placed the shot drum inbetween the 1st drum and 2nd drum. I think it makes perfect for playing though, too.

Great set...highly recommended! Just makes sure to buy some shell savers though with it, because after a couple of years, the shells tend to cave in.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Best quad set up of all brands.
Cons:

The set up of these drums is absolutely wonderful. The ability to adjust the distance of the drums from the player is fantastic. The drums look and sound great, and haven't let me down in the slightest.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Cradle is genius, great sounding drums
Cons: Tension rods & rims rust WAY too easily, heavy, j-bars bend

Even though I only rated 'em an 8, they're probably my favorite brand of tenors. Each of the major manufacturers has some serious room to improve, so nobody gets a 10.

I've marched 6-10-12-13-14 Dynasty quints in drum corps and teach at a school using 6-8-10-12-13 quints. These are possibly the only drums I've been able to get a great sound with on both "large block" and "small block" setups.

The cradle is genius. Drum-to-drum positioning is perfect and the mounting is incredibly solid. There's no discernible flex or movement

Now for the down side... Tension rods and washers rust terribly if you get 'em wet even just once or twice. Marching drums do get wet on occasion and need to be designed to handle it. The drums are freakin' heavy -- easily the heaviest on the market. In drum corps, we had problems with j-bars and even carriers bending under the weight of the drums.

Using an inward-flanged rim on spock drums would be a nice change from the typical triple-flanged rims. I've seen a bunch of spocks get their bearing edges chewed up from errant sticks and using Yamaha- or (old school) Slingerland-style rims on the spocks might help prevent it.

Overall, great drums. Hardware could use a little improvement, though.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Tone, drum housings, ease of tuning
Cons: weight

I own a pair of Dynasty Sextets, 6 8 100 12 13 14. They are blue with powder coated chrome hardware. 1500 was the price for the coating, case, stand, and harness.

Overall I'd rate these drums excellent. They sounds great, tune easily, and just look amazing. The housings for the drums also keep your tenors perfectly spaced to optimize your playing.

Dynasty promises they are "ready to play" right out of the box but this is far from true. Expect to pay an extra 100 dollars on top of what you pay for the drums because the stock heads are total garbage and are used for shipping purposes only.

The weight is also a little intense but you get used to it after a while.

Overall I rate these drums a 9.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Great Quad Cradle, Sound is Great, Solid Build
Cons: VERY Heavy

These Tenors were bought for my Highschool back in about 2003.

Quad Cradle is Genius, makes spacing easy and installing the Spock was fairly easy.

A little on the heavy side, these things take a while to build up the muscle and get used to, especially when you dont play for a year and go back to them....yikes!

Never ever had a problem with tension rods rusting. After a rainy game, we came back and wiped every drum off and I cannot recall our drums EVER having any rust on them, even after about 6 years of use.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Sound, Spacing of drums, Cradle
Cons: WEIGHT!!!

My school has the big-block, deep shell tenors. Overall, these are some of the best drums that I have played on. They sound great, project well, and are so easy to tune. The biggest downside is the weight. We did our entire hell-week this last year while only using stands a couple of times. By the time the season started, we were fit and ready to go!

About a quarter of the way into the season though, we retrofitted our drums to use Dynasty's new "T-Max" System. This put the drums a little bit farther out and made them feel so much heavier. Nothing you can't get used to! The new system makes it so much easier to put on and take off, as well as raise and lower the drums/ adjust the angle. It is a little more difficult to get on a stand though.

The drums look and sound great. As long as you take care of them, they can stay that way for quite a while.
