Description:
|
The MTS-2000 supports marching toms during rehearsals without carriers. Universal-fit arms accommodate most backbars commonly in use today. New welded T-bar ensures long life, gear tilter allows pinpoint positioning, and oversized rubber feet maintain maximum surface contact.

Positive aspects of the product (pros):
|
Sturdy, simple, cheap.

Cons:

Would be nice if it could adjust lower

Like other Pearl hardware I've used, it's a pretty elegant piece of engineering. Solid, stable, and simple. Everything is adjustable without tools, so it's a no-fuss stand.
I have two minor complaints that keep me from giving it a perfect 10: (1) I'm 5'10" and use the stand at its absolute lowest height. (2) Angle of the drums is controlled by a gear tilter. A toothless tilter with finer adjustments would be nice. (Pearl may have opted for the gear tilter for strength.)

Easy to set up/adjust

Cons:

unrealiable in the long run

Good stand...until it breaks!! the tilt adjustment mechanism WILL break on you eventually. We used these stands at United for two years and had to replace 3 of the four stands. Its only a matter of time before the last one breaks. Also, the high school I teach had this stand break in the exact same way. And there is NO ONE to contact on the pearl website for customer service. It is a pain getting replacement parts. Get a different stand if possible.

Positive aspects of the product (pros):
|
Easy adjustment. Fairly light.
|
|
Cons:
|
Not that durable.

We had two with our minicorps, and while they were nice stands when they lasted - easy to adjust, not overwhelmingly heavy to move - they didn't make it past a year with use. On both, the metal C clip that held the horizontal bar on the post warped and the whole thing fell apart from there.
