Description: The Tom Aungst Tenor Hybrid blends the feel of a traditional tenor mallet with the sound of a snare stick. A “step-down” grip design, pronounced taper and perfect tip shape and size assists the player in getting around the drums easily while producing a great sound. Great for both indoor and outdoor applications.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Great feel with a nice sound
Cons: Can break easily depending on music

I love this stick. To me it feels better than mallets like MT1A's. My only complaint is that they can break easily if you accidentally do a ping on the smallest part of the stick, and the wood seems to be slightly softer than other sticks. I still highly recommend this stick for ANY use unless you're just going for a special sound.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Feel great, great sound
Cons: Don't hit rims on the top taper

Our tenors just switched to these mallets this year and they absolutely love them! Be careful with the taper at the very top, especially if you're playing something like double beat on the rims. You want to try to hit on the first taper, the top end can snap if you're not careful. All in all, however, the sticks sound great, feel great... they're just great! I love them, my guys love them, and I think you'll love them, too! 10/10

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Great soound, Nice feel, Lightweight
Cons: Easily Broken

This is a great stick. I switched from mallets, and have been using these since. Their weight makes moving around the drums easy and won't tire your fulcrum out on long or difficult licks or passages. They sound great too, especially on the spock; you get a much more pronounced sound than a mallet can achieve. The only problem is the head of the stick is very thin and will break easily if you shot or rim alot. I've only broken two or three in a year so it's not a big deal. 9/10.
