Positive aspects of the product (pros): durable (for wood), well ballanced, great grip
Cons:

The SilverFox SF-CT-1 has been my favorite wooden tenor mallet for years. SilverFox has fallen out of vogue, but that doesn't change the quality of this product.

This mallet has a nice ballance and very good rebound. It's a bit end-heavy compared to aluminum mallets, as all wooden mallets seem to be. I've compared these directly to the Innovative Percussion FT-1 and the ballance appears to be identical.

Note that Innovative Percussion's "fulcrum notch" is basically a knock-off of the SilverFox Competition mallet grip, so if you like those I think you'll love these -- the grip area is nice and fat and tapers down to the shaft diameter at the fulcrum (I find the IP fulcrum area a bit too small in diameter.)

These mallets have a wider/thicker "cookie" than most other mallets, so they produce a fuller but somewhat less articulate sound (more overtones.)

If you can find a pair, I suggest you give them a try.
