Positive aspects of the product (pros): cheap, lots of sustain
Cons: Serious durability problems, loses tone quickly, not much articulation or projection

We used these heads on our Pearl Championship quints (6, 8, 10, 12, 14) they were a bit of a headache.

On the upside, these heads are pretty cheap as far as tenor heads go, but you'll go through them so quick that you'll end up spending more than if you got something else. Also, there are a lot of nice tones that come out of this head, but only if its during the 5 minute period after they've settled in and before they film loses integrity. It is a definite no no in the Indoor environment.

Evans really made a big mistake by not crimping the hoop at all. Simply doing this would probably solve most of the problems and this would be a decent head. Pulls are very common, even within the first half an hour of putting it on. This causes a lot of emergencies right before shows, which isn't good because tuning them quickly is even worse. The film loses its tonal integrity pretty quickly, making your drums sound like thump instead of tenors. The film is pretty weak and gets bent and torn easily. Bad technique? Maybe, but different heads don't fail nearly as much.

Only get these if you really like the sound, or if you had a million in surplus like we did. Maybe Evans added a crimped hoop since we stopped using them, who knows.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Cheap
Cons: Durability, not able to stay in tune, seem to go dead sooner than other heads

These are greatly-priced heads with somewhat fair quality.
We have only had these for maybe 4 months and we havn't played on them that much and they're losing their tone very fast. Also, they tend to lose their tuning fairly quickly.
I guess if you needed a fast/cheap set these would be a good bet, but other than that I wouldn't really recommend these...
