(From Innovative Percussions Website)
-Heartwood Hickory
-Oversize Round Bead
-Short Taper
-"Fulcrum Notched" Gripping Area
-Length: 11 15/16": Diameter: Varied .725" to .630"
The TS-1 multi-tom drumstick is designed solely to meet the playing needs of today's multi-tom player. Never before has a company designed a stick specifically for the multi-tom player. The TS-1 features a larger bead for a full, warm tone quality. The length, substantially shorter than a traditional snare drumstick, is designed to better facilitate proper multi-tom playing technique. To provide a balanced feel to the player, we have incorporated our unique "fulcrum notched" gripping area, which makes the stick feel as though it were substantially longer. This unique design also aids in teaching young players proper technique and fulcrum placement. The TS-1 multi-tom drumstick, a cutting edge product, is the perfect addition to any multi-tom player's array of implements, and will give today's highly competitive indoor drumlines a much needed and deserved alternative.

I have used the Innovative TS-1's my senior year in my high school's line as practice sticks. We use small sets of Yamaha Field Corps tenors and Remo Pinstripes tuned fairly high. We are a traditional-style marching band... and I like rimshots.
I taped up the shoulder-half of the sticks, and these sticks have served me well. I have yet to use any TS-1's without tape, yet I plan to do so soon. My personal pair has dealt with playing for forty-five minutes or more, five days a week, plus three hours on Thursday nights. Not to mention fellow members of the line feeling the need to throw my tenor sticks.
One of the great things I like about the TS-1's is the length. The length make them comfortable to play with, from sweeps to crossovers. I made the switch from the Vic Firth Scott Johnson "Vegas," which always felt too long to me. When I would place my thumb and first finger on the fulcrum of a Vega, I would have at least two or three inches of stick left after my smallest finger. This length at the end proved to make the Vegas very uncomfortable for me to use. The TS-1's length make them great choices for intricate work.
The fulcrum grip on the TS-1's is extremely comfortable. It did not take long to get used to the oddly-shaped grip, and the sticks feel very "natural" when playing. It feels like my hands are "supposed to be like that." I believe this may help younger, or beginning players in developing proper technique.
Another reason I like the TS-1 is the large wooden tip. As mentioned before, I used Vegas for a while, and I do not prefer the staccato sound the small nylon heads produce. The TS-1's tips produce full tones, even on smalls sets of tenors. I was able to gain a more satisfactory tone out of the highly-tuned eight-inch tenor with the TS-1's than any mallet I have used could produce. Not only great outdoors in rehearsals, I have used these for my high school's pep band indoors, and they still sound great! Outdoors or indoors, these sticks can stick produce great sounds from your tenors!
These sticks are also lightweight, yet strong. As I mentioned before, my pair has lasted me an entire season of rehearsals, and have plenty of nicks on the tape. Only recently have I begun to notice actual damage to the sticks (some minor chipping). These sticks have even withstood rainy rehearsals, and have not swelled any bit.
I highly recommend these tenor sticks above others; Vegas, Hardimons, or otherwise.

These are GREAT sticks, especially if your tenor line is young (the fulcrum notch makes perfecting the grip easier). The length is the best part of the sticks, very easy to play scrapes and sweeps, cross-overs are also very easy. The fulcrum notch is easy to get used to, it almost feels like all sticks should be made that way. The notch makes the stick feel longer than they are, giving them a great feel. If your looking for something a little longer, I would suggest the Vegas, awesome stick.

I just had my tenors switch to this stick. So far i love it!... good consistency from stick to stick. If you think vegas are too long for you than this is the stick for you. this stick has proven to be very durable for the most part only minor chips off of the tips...other than that they last can last ya awhile. they produce a nice tone off of your tenors and can give you sweet timbale-ish pings. it's really easy to get around the drums with these sticks. I highly reccomened you try a pair out. btw up until I tried these i was a die-hard Vic firth man. I've seen the light and it's called the "TS-1"

I do enjoy this sticks, our tenors just switched over this year to the STATHS after marching these for the past three years. If you prefer the beaded stick as opposed to a mallet, then this is a wonderful stick to use. They sound great, and I liked them, however, I still prefer a tenor MALLET over these sticks, so I can only give it an 8.

This was the second tenor stick that I ever used way back in the day. At the time I was pretty young and still in high school. It is great for younger players because its lighter, shorter, and the fulcrum notch is awesome. When I joined drum corps we used them then too and they didn't disappoint. The fulcrum is great for hot summer days. I like how the bead is bigger. Its good for maintaining a good playing angle, unlike some snare stick where you need to raise your hands up a little. This is pretty similar to the Hardimon Tenor Stick if your familiar with that.
The only thing I don't like too much is that the stick is pretty light. Like I said earlier its good when your young, but when your caption head is trying to get more sound out of you and you have a light stick there's only so much that can be done. I would evaluate your needs before you make this your primary. If sound is what you really need this might not be the top choice, but it is still a great stick. But take that with a grain of salt because I haven't bought a new pair since 2006 and things may have changed
