Positive aspects of the product (pros): Crisp Sound, Good hardware
Cons:

Opinion:

Our drumline recently bought a whole Dynasty line. We originally had Pearl Championship snares, and now we have the Dynasty DFXT. The difference in sound with the right heads is awesome. We use a White max on the top and falam II's on the bottom. We used the same combination with the Pearl's and tuned them the same, but the Dynasty snare had a much tighter, articulated sound. The hardware has been very resilent, nothing has broken, or has had to been replaced. I strongly recommend them for anyone who has the money. You won't be sorry, they are, in my opinion, a BEAUTIFUL sounding snare.

Specifications:

12x14" drum, 8 ply maple shell. Top and bottom counter hoops, suspension collar and casings are all Endurite. Heavy duty 6mm tension rods. Mounted protective feet on the snare hoop, solidly mounted. Synthetic stands of 12 for guts on a slick operating throwoff. The drum weighs 16 pounds.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): sounds great, looks great
Cons:

This drum sounds great it’s crisp and articulated. I’m extremely satisfied with mine. It’s easy to tune and it’s durable. The fact that Dynasty drums come with a lifetime warranty is also a plus. They are a bit heavy but it’s not a problem. I’ve got a leg rest and multi-angle bar on my drum and it works just great. Another plus is that that the drum looks awesome!

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Great price for a decent drum
Cons: a lot of mainetce

well i just wanna say that these are great drums, relly i thought before our line got them that they were gonna sound like crap but they really dont. they have a unique sound compared to yamaha or pearl. you really have to try one out before your choice. but i dont think this drum is classified as a free floater!

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Solid construction - nice sound - very durable.
Cons: Heavy, some bolts tend to loosen.

We used these for the last year in my minicorps. We bought them used, and they were the first model Dynasty snare (a la BD 2000). Despite their advanced age they were rock-solid in construction and held up amazingly well to our frequent performances. The heads settle nicely on them and (unlike Yamaha) the rims are forgiving of low playing angles.

However, the drums are heavy, heavy, heavy. And on the old school models, the j-bar tilters were a pain to deal with. (Since corrected with their proprietary carrier system.) Finally, the connectors holding the whole upper rims to the shell had a tendency to loosen, which made the whole drum rattle and a little scary to carry around. Nevertheless, *very* good drums, and great customer service - especially for scholastic lines they're a good choice.
