Description: The Retrosonic™ has the ability to change timbre by adjusting the space between the shell halves from 0 to 3/4". Our drum pays tribute to the Space Tone drum that was manufactured by the former Hinger Touch Tone Corporation. Our Resin Fiber™ shell material is the same as previously used, and we have taken great care to reproduce the bearing edge and snare bed shapes.

However, the Retrosonic™ takes the Space Tone concept and adds our own innovations like telesoping tube lugs, the Precision Glide strainer system, and a more reliable and precision shell adjustment method. The knurled screws allow you to precisely adjust the space between the shells for the exact sound you want. In addition, when the shell is completely closed, the shells interlock together to maintain perfect shell alignment.

You'll find that the characteristic sound of the Retrosonic is dominating and boisterous. The further you open up the shells, the more the drum approaches a field drum sound. Since the shells interlock when completely closed, you also get an accurate 6.5" deep drum sound.

Retrosonic F.A.Q.

Q: Does the Retrosonic come with a Multisonic system?

A: No, just a Precision-Glide Trio.

Q: Is the adjustment of the space instant?

A: No. You must turn the adjustment knobs in pairs, front and back, to adjust the space. The design objective was never to obtain "instant" adjustment.

Q: What colors are available?

A: Any color you want, as long as it is black.
