Positive aspects of the product (pros): good wieght nice sound
Cons: fragile rims

this is a very good series of bass drums for highscool drumlines. you have great sound and the wieght of the drum is not to heavy. i marched first bass my freshman year and i loved the bass. any highschool drumline should be marching these basses

Positive aspects of the product (pros): great warm sound, superior hardware
Cons: none

Last year I ordered my high school kids a set of these (18, 20, 22, 24, 26, and 28") and they're so much better than our old yamaha basses. They project so much better and with much warmer overtones. You just can't beat the sound of maple.

Pearls is also the company that bothered to line up the lug casings on the drum to height and position of the rim and claw. I've had problems with popped lugs with yamaha and especially premier. My college line (UD) got the new premier drums and we couldn't go a week without popping at least a few lugs on the top 3 drums.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Everything
Cons:

It doesn't matter how many people you put on the field, these drums are still going to be heard. Definitely the loudest and deepest bass drums I've ever heard. Now matter how tight they are, they still sound like basses (and not tenors). Slap some Evans MX heads on them and you're all set.
