Premier basses are light, i'll give them that. the 30" Premier bass is comprable in weight to the 26" Pearl Championship Series. On the other hand, this huge drop in weight has to come from somewhere. They're made from birch wood! so they're light but they sound horrible! The sound comes off as really thin and hollow (i know, basses ARE hollow, but these don't have ANY warmth).
The hardware on these basses is pretty bad as well. Whoever designed them didn't bother to line up the lug casings with the height and position of the rim, so the tension rods have to be screwed in at an angle, this causes MANY broken tension rods and makes it impossible to tune anywhere close to as high as you can with pearl or even yamaha.
Stay away from these drums unless you're in a stepper band or something!
