Description:
|
Diggit Drum Stickweights can slip on any drumstick, any size, anywhere. They are easy to use; just roll them on your stick, then velcro it to ensure it will not slip off. I reccomend this product to any drummer that wants to have great technique, endurance, and speed.

The Diggit Drum Stickweights are a great product. I only paid $13.99, and in return I got great practice, increasing my chops. They are really easy to use, and easy to put on your drumsticks. Just wrap them around your sticks, then fasten them with the velcro. They don't slip off, because they are held on with a great grip on the inner side of the stickweights. They fit any drumstick, so don't worry that yours may be too big for them. They are made out of an elastic material.

I just bought a pair of these about 2 weeks ago, and I love them. I put them on my sticks when I practice, and even if 2 ounces doesn't seem like a lot, it really does make a difference. And as before mentioned, the fit on any sticks, wether it be a pair of 7A's or a pair of Dennis DeLucia's. You can even put them on your bass drum beater for set. I would definitly recommend these.

Practice Toy (Fun), Slight Value for Building Chops
|
|
Cons:

Not practical at all
|

These weights are simply something to have fun with. I would never actually use these stick weights to build chops. I played with them a couple years ago and still stand by the fact that using them makes the sticks you use practically unplayable. Even if you do try to do a bit of extensive use of them in one session, the weights can and will eventually slide down the shaft giving you not only uneven sticks, but making you stop to fix them.
ALso, keep in mind the physical factor involved. Many people can damage their chops by extensive use of products like this and things like metal drumsticks.
The only fun part about them is to play around with them for like 5-10 minutes, and then play without them and notice the difference.
The key to building chops is frequent practice and relaxed grip. This product doesnt really support that because frequent practice could hurt you in the long run and it's hard to have a relaxed grip with so much weight throwing off the fulcrum.
Fun, but not practical.

I would definitly recommend these as a muscle builder. Unless Kevin has statistical proof of people hurtin their chops with these i will stick to my positive report on this product. There is a downside however, they tend to tear with excessive use. Use these on a pair of sticks you don't use for show or practice but for home use only on a soft surface for less shock on your arms. Have another pair of sticks handy and notice the immediate differnce when switching to unwieghted sticks. Also switch off to keep the feel for the weight of the stick without the diggits to not throw off your muscle memory. You can change the resistance by switching the weight up and down the stick. You can also place the weight behind your fulcrum to add a light workout to your downstroke.

I absolutely love this product. Its not like a pillow where you cant here yourself play because you can play on a drum with these. I strongly recommend this product.
